The Gaslit Movement
They doubted us. We didn’t doubt ourselves.
Gaslit began with the experience of knowing something was wrong – and being told otherwise.
It can sound like “It’s anxiety”. “It’s weight”. “That’s just how women’s bodies are”. Or simply, “Your tests are normal”.
Sometimes it’s not one person or one appointment; it’s a system that fragments the body, separates symptoms into silos and misses the person sitting in front of it, over and over again.
It shouldn’t be this way. This is where the rage comes in.
Gaslit isn’t here to create more outrage about medical gaslighting. We’re here to give it somewhere to go.
Gaslit is the action.
We’re here to make medical gaslighting harder to dismiss.
Wear it to the doctor. Wear it to the hospital. Wear it to the pharmacy. Wear it everywhere else. Medical gaslighting isn’t just in a doctor’s office, so neither are we.
Every Gaslit logo becomes a point of recognition. Another person sees it. Another person knows what it means. Another person thinks, “That happened to me too”.
This is how the movement grows – quietly, deliberately, one person at a time.
We exist. We’re visible. We’re not going away.
From Recognition to Action
The Movement doesn’t stop at recognition,
Knowing what happened is one thing. Knowing what to do with it is another.
We’re building a growing collection of practical resources, lived experiences and self-advocacy tools to help people navigate healthcare when the system isn’t listening.
Preparing for appointments. Understanding your options. Knowing where to turn. Learning how to advocate – for yourself and alongside others.
Some resources will come from Gaslit. Others will come from people and organisations already doing important work in this space. We’ll always point you towards the source.
This isn’t a service sitting outside the movemenet.
It’s something the movement makes possible.
The more people participate, the more we can build, share, and give back to the community. Take a look at our current resources using the link below.
